Welcome to the Florida State College at Jacksonville Honors Program whose mantra is “Reach Higher!” Whether you are a recent high school graduate, currently enrolled student, dual-enrolled student or returning adult, we enthusiastically encourage your interest in pursuing an honors education at FSCJ—a premiere academic option for emerging scholars.
The FSCJ Honors Program provides Associate in Arts (A.A.) students with opportunities for academic excellence, service-learning, leadership development and fellowship within an intellectually vibrant and student-centered learning environment. Guided by knowledgeable and caring faculty, honors students explore the world of ideas while benefiting from hands-on learning opportunities with a variety of local community and business partners.
Honors students thrive within a supportive learning community composed of fellow students and dedicated faculty. Students likewise benefit from personalized academic and career guidance provided by the Director of the Honors Program and advisors.
Although honors students enjoy special recognition at commencement and on their college transcripts, their greatest reward lies in knowing that they “reached higher” to achieve their academic and professional goals.
We cordially invite you to explore the FSCJ Honors Program and the many enriching opportunities that it provides to emerging scholars.
The mission of the Florida State College at Jacksonville Honors Program is to foster academic excellence, service-learning and civic engagement within an intellectually vibrant and student-centered learning community.

In Spring 2022, students enrolled in Dr. Leo Collins' CHM 1025C chemistry course had the opportunity to collect water samples from various points along the St. Johns River. The students then analyzed the samples for water quality in the chemistry lab. Watch the video to see how the experience enhanced student learning.
