FSCJ has partnered with Lennar Homes and the Building Talent Foundation to launch the Building Futures for Jax Construction Academy Scholarship Program. This initiative provides participants with 200 tuition-free training hours across various construction-related courses, including NCCER Core Construction, OSHA, Forklift Operation, and more. In addition to technical training, participants will receive professional development and workforce readiness support, including job placement assistance. This well-rounded program equips individuals with essential skills to successfully launch a career in the construction industry.
This 150-hour foundational course prepares students for entry-level roles in construction. Topics include job site safety, hand and power tools, construction math, material handling, construction drawings, and rigging. Students receive a Workforce Certificate of Completion and are registered in the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Database.
This training offers up to 30 hours of instruction focused on workplace safety. Topics include hazard identification, lockout/tagout procedures, fall protection, ergonomics, and more. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to receive an OSHA 10 and/or 30 certification card.
Students will learn life-saving techniques including CPR, AED use, and choke relief. Certification is issued by the American Heart Association upon course completion.
This course introduces students to safe forklift operation, hazard awareness, and material handling practices. It prepares students to efficiently move materials in warehouse and construction settings.
This course includes interactive modules on resume writing, interview preparation, salary negotiation, workplace communication, and job search strategies equipping students with the soft skills necessary for lasting success in the workforce.
